Abimbola Olakanye (BeBe)

Abimbola Olakanye, also known as BeBe, is a Nigerian American golfer with a mission to elevate Nigeria’s presence in international golfing circles. Currently, BeBe is focused on developing a private, yet publicly accessible, American standard driving range in Akufo, Ibadan, Nigeria. This facility aims not only to promote golf but also to instill vital life skills in children and youth through sustainable practices.

BeBe’s expertise in golf management has been recognized by notable figures like Donald Trump, whom he advised on renovating and maximizing profits from the Lowes Island golf course. His recommendations led to the transformation of the facility into the Trump National Golf Club, Washington D.C., which subsequently hosted the 2017 Senior PGA Championship.

Throughout his career, BeBe has worked with prominent professional golfers and American celebrities, demonstrating his versatility and credibility in the industry. His extensive network spans across various countries, enriching his experiences and connections.

Looking ahead, BeBe’s goal is to groom a Nigerian player to compete at an elite level on the LPGA or PGA tour by 2040. He envisions golf as a sport accessible to all, irrespective of background or status, and aims to achieve this through his golf company, BeBe Golf and Recreation, which focuses on training children from ages 5-13 in professional golfing practices.
