Abimbola Olakanye (BeBe)
The Nigerian American on a mission to place Nigeria and west Africa on the golfing map internationally. Currently, BeBe is partnering with Cross creek golf course, Ilado, Akure, Ondo state to build a sustainable golf academy.
Bebe expertise in golf management has been recognized by notable figures like Donald Trump, whom he advised on renovating and maximizing profits from the Lowes island course,Virgina. His recommendation led to the transformation of the facility into Trump National Golf Club, Washington D.C, which subsequently hosted the 2017 Senior PGA championship.
Bebe has worked with prominent professional golfers on various tours demonstrating his versatility and credibility in the industry.
Bebe won the 2022 Canadian Women’s Open championship along side South African player Paula Reto. He has worked with PGA tour players such as James Hahn, Brice Garnett, Tom Hoge, Jimmy Stanger, Rico Hoey to name a few. His extensive network span across various countries, enriching his experience and connections.

Our mission
The mission statement for BeBe Golf Academy is to be dedicated to the growth and development of kids and adults by providing educational programs that introduces them to golf in Nigeria. The driving force behind Bebe Golf Academy is to provide an avenue to help introduce kids and adults to golf in West Africa. Looking ahead, Bebe’s goal is to groom Nigeria and West Africa players to an elite level on the LPGA or PGA tour by 2040. He envisions golf as a sport accessible to all, irrespective of background or status, and aim to achieve this through his golf academy.
Bebe Golf Academy wants to give kids from ages 5 to 18 a chance to pick up the game of golf while placing emphasis on life enhancing values, and proper morals. These tools provided to the children will help significantly contribute to their development as responsible and contributing members of their family, community, and society.
Out of School Clinics
The kids and young adults will be involved in weekly golf clinics at Cross Creek Golf course in Ilado, Akure, Ondo state. During the clinics, they will be introduced to the basic fundermental and golf mechanics.
Kids and adults will learn core values such as integrity, honesty, courtesy, respect and good sportsmanship. The rules and etiquette of golf will also be layed emphasis on as they grow and learn the game of life.
